Being an outcast isn’t much fun. Being hunted by an unseen foe is even less so. Now, more than ever, survival is imperative.
Mitch Kessler, leader of the Outcasts—four enhanced mutants—is back. Mitch is a gargoyle, Callie is his girlfriend, a former gender shifter. Then there is Joe, his best friend who can spin at incredible speeds, and Neil, a rock-man. Mitch and Joe are now working for the police department, but they’re still viewed with suspicion and fear.
Things change when some murders in Wyoming are committed, and immediately, Mitch comes under suspicion. To make matters worse, Joe is beginning to age at an abnormal rate, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to stop it. At the same time, a former general, Harmon Carson, contacts the Outcasts with promises of a cure for their condition, and another mutant named Niles turns up. Coincidence? Maybe.
The lure of the cure is too much to turn down, so Mitch, Callie, and Joe meet with the general. They soon find out that Carson has his own agenda going on, and it’s going to take the combined powers of the team in order to defeat him. Victory comes with a price, though—and that price is steep.
